Enhancing Pediatric Transplant Predictions with Graph Models |
|
A study by Dr. Yao Xie, CHHS Co-Founder Dr. Pinar Keskinocak, Isabel Xi He, and Liyan Xie has been published in Statistics in Biosciences as part of a special issue honoring the late Professor Tze Leung Lai. Their paper, “Survival Analysis with Graph-Based Regularization for Predictors”, introduces a novel graph-regularized Cox model that improves survival predictions for pediatric kidney transplant patients using data from over 19,000 UNOS cases.

Boosting Meal Delivery Efficiency for Gwinnett Seniors |
|
A Georgia Tech ISyE Senior Design team partnered with Neighborhood Meals on Wheels (NMOW) to enhance their inventory management system. With NMOW's meal deliveries increasing from 7,000 in 2021 to over 35,000 in 2024, the team developed tools to improve inventory visibility and align menu planning with procurement processes. These solutions aim to reduce waste, decrease grocery trip frequency, and enable NMOW to serve more seniors efficiently.
